The Edo dwell on the island of Akaliwai along with the much larger Yamonari tribe. The two tribes are constantly battling each other.
The Edo are ruled by a self-proclaimed "Witch-King" who is both chieftain and shaman. This witch-king, named Lokar, has unleashed devastatingly powerful spells and turned the tide of more than one battle against the Yamonari. Lokar often leads Edo warriors in battle himself. He teaches magic to the shamans of the Edo villages. He crafts and distributes potions, protective charms and other items to help the Edo in battle. It is only through Lokar's superior magic that the Edo are able to hold their own against the much larger and more powerful Yamonari tribe.
The Edo shave their heads except for a single topknot worn as a single braid down the back. They pierce their noses and ears with long sharp sticks and various other pieces of wooden jewelry.
The Edo are known as the People of the Long Houses. This is a reference to the type of long log cabins that they have historically used. Their villages are clusters of these cabins around a central circular stone tiled plaza. This plaze is the site of all tribal ceremonies, dances and communal feasts.
The truth known to very few is that Lokar, the witch-king of the Edo, is actually a very skilled and powerful wizard exiled from the nation of Aukarian Republic. He magically disguises himself and reveals his true nature only to his closest and most trusted Edo allies - a tight knit group of shaman leaders of the tribe. Even most common Edo tribesman are unaware of their leader's true nature.
